We constantly ignore the fact that we live in a world where all the odd's have been normalized, my name is Abigail and I'm a Kenyan, this is my own opinion about the evil looming in my country. you can come at me but I will not condone this behavior.
Defilement, Rape culture, and basically Gender Based violence. Recently there was a case where a 45-year-old man defiled a 2-year-old, it could not get any worse than this you say? well, the man happens to be 2 -year old girl's father. Shocking isn't it? Not really not anymore, not like it would have been 20 years ago.
Why is it being taken so lightly, These are our sisters, brothers mothers, etc. I took the liberty of looking this up, mind you these are not my own words but the law In Kenya Defilement of a child 11 years and below carries a sentence of life imprisonment; Defilement of a child between the ages of 12 to 15 has a sentence of 20 years imprisonment; Defilement of a child between 16- 18 years old carries a sentence of 15 years imprisonment.
so with that said and done, well written down as a law how come there is a surge in these cases? is our government not putting enough pressure on these crimes? My honest answer is yes, our government priorities are most definitely misplaced.
This 45-year-old man who had the audacity to look at his 2-year-old daughter, and defile her in a church, is an example of many fathers, uncles, bosses, friends, etc. who commit this animosity and then blame it on the devil, and mental instability. I mean we do not live in a perfect world but have we come to the point of even giving names to such heinous acts? Paedophilia is its name, according to google this is a specific disorder where there is a preference for sexual activity with a prepubescent child or children. why? why would we give it a name? If this isn't normalization and justification then what is it? Whoever came up with this diagnosis needs help, fast, in fact, he/she should be imprisoned, life imprisonment to be exact.
He was possessed by an evil spirit to commit the act, He is mentally unstable, he is dealing with issues according to some doctors, and He has uncontrolled libido. claims that such men suffer from this mental condition which apparently is just like suicide victims and that they need medical and psychological attention rather than imprisonment is utter nonsense. Society, church, and government have really failed, we have all failed these innocent souls who walk around broken emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically. As someone who has not been affected directly, I feel for all the victims whose tears and cries have gone to deaf and blind members of society who could have helped.
